Below are my horizontal layouts for the first article I did for Render. The article I chose to start with was my review of a tutorial. One of the longest part of the process was finding the tutorial I wanted to use, writing the content and creating the video. On the impact page, what appears to be just an image is actually a finished version of one of the sections of the tutorial I wrote about. It is about 6 seconds long and I have it set to loop. There is a drop shadow on all the text for this page to aide in readability because of the video. I ended up really liking how that effect looks because it helps with depth on the reading device. There is a small deck on the first page describing the designer who did the tutorial and two links, his website and the the tutorial. I attempted to link them but I have been having a lot of trouble with the interactive elements.
This is my secondary page, it is only a two page article. The summary and review is the content. To carry over that blue color I added a streak to break up the page, it recalls the movement/shapes in the impact video. Below the streak is the good and bad chart, the final score of the tutorial and the box with information about the types of noise. For the last mentioned box I am working on making it spin (like one of the examples on the ipad) so that on each side would be the different facts. That is why there is an outline around the box, it would be a signal throughout that those ones can be tapped, while the lower two cannot because they do not have the stroke.
