Week 8B

After the skype talk we had during class we had a lecture on digital publication. There are four main formats used in digital publication:

• .epub- Electronic publishing (not interactive) essentially a micro-website in HTML (anyone can read)
• .folio- Adobe's digital publishing suite (InDesign), has more capabilities
• .azw- Amazon Word, a proprietary file format for the Amazon Kindle Devices
• .pdf- Portable Document Format, interactive capabilities, slow download speed, no security 

Then we discussed e-readers and different online magazines. After class I was able to get feedback on my layouts. One of the main components that was working was the pixel grid, this is something I am now planning to include in all 3 spreads to assist with continuity.
